Geez, you'd think there'd be a rule against these kinds of posts. It will be released when there is major progress done. Do expect an additional character update on April 1st, though.

just in case, you need to download the whole thing, not just the patch.

also make sure you either delete or upgrade all the patch files with the stuff from extras folder, including the 99 bosses patch, debug and everything else. the old versions of those files will downgrade your game.

Duke and Reimu don't seem to be vulnerable while landing from getting knocked into the air. I tried corner kicking them with Nathan to juggle, but they landed with full immunity. Conversely, Nathan can eat a shotgun shell after a standing or crouching mighty boot. :/

ok, that's fixed. both were missing collision boxes for the landing, and duke didn't have the updated code that only enables the invincibility for easy modes. i forgot to add the code to the 'new character template', lol.

Playing as 8-bit Simon feels more awesome now, but don't you think that it would look better if he had 8-bit sub weapons too?

Also, this may be just me, but the extended flame whip look a bit wrong, maybe they should keep the same size of the whip but in flames, just like Hanz

Oh, another thing before I forget. Did you know that after the back-dash, if you jump, some "residual" invincible-frames from the back-dash are left on the jump making you able to evade a bit on the air like in the old version with the super-jump (I don't know If I'm being clear enough, but in any case, if this is intentional, I actually like it, but change it if you think that it's too game-breaking)

Going to have to agree with the super long flame whip; the original one in RoB was completely composed of flame. Seeing the chain suddenly elongate as much as it does seem off somehow. >_>

That said, as much as I like Don's sprite work, I think it's at odds with Simon being NES-like. He's certainly not that stiff and rigid anymore, but he should still look the part as far as I'm concerned. Either the older run animation you had (for the throne room intro), or a rework by Don would be preferred from me. :T

It's also an excuse to do a double jump animation. :D

You dont have instructions posted anywhere as to what to do with the file patches you create for your CV Fighter.

HOW do you add the patch01.ass you upload for us to enjoy?
I checked te DL page
I checked the change log
I checked this forum
I checked your forum info (for an answer or email)
I did several internet searches
AND NOW ive gone through the pain of joining another random internet forum, JUST to ask a simple question.
--HOW do you apply your patches?

Do you drag and drop it beside all the other files??? Do you rename it something and THEN drop it in the same folder? Do you attempt to unarchive it somehow? Seriously, -no matter- how simple or obvious something is to you, for someone whos never looked at your files, you shouldnt assume we would know what to do with it. You need a "HOW TO APPLY THE PATCHES" somewhere... anywhere.

-That all said and out of te way- Im one of the self-proclaimed biggest fan of Castlevania (tho I cant put aside hatred of the new continuity in LoS yet) and Ive been making stuff for MUGEN since inception (its creation, not the movie :p) --ergo running into your site here, and your work has made me extremely giddy. My birthday was only a couple days ago and ive been depressed lately. (Depressed for unrelated reasons not pertaining to the b-day lol) but seeing your game has perked me right up!

I apologize if I asked for help with this perhaps in the wrong section, or typed on for too long or if any of this somehow breaks forum rules. I didnt want to join this forum in the first place, so i rushed just to join and write this for help with the patches. No offense, but unless I have a reason to return and be part of te community (ergo post ever again) then im not too worried about reviewing the board rules. One realy shouldnt need to join a forum just to figure out what to do with a game patch any how. (Tho it happens every day.)

I don't know whether if Charlotte mana regen has been slowed down or her ice needles cost increased because i cannot cast as much spells before was that intended?

i don't think i changed charlotte's spells, but maybe i reduced her recovery speed, it could've been too fast.

also i forgot to mention, i updated the debug extra. it'll show the character's name by its id now.

needs full redownload since i did a whole lot of internal changes. get patch00.ass too, since there's one small fix i forgot to do in it, but i don't want to reupload 160+ mb all over again. lol

maria now has a complete moveset. hugh has a new sword move under ff+attack, which works differently depending on which attack button you use.
also a lot of fixes as usual.

remilia's stage is actually 2 different ones. one's the old, touhouvania 1 version with some modifications, one the updated touhouvania 2 one. i originally removed the old one, but some people liked it so i thought what the hell, i'll keep it. it'll need a different picture, but that won't happen until i fully move to mugen 1.0/1.1

also uhh, oops. akmodan stage wasn't supposed to be in yet, it was going to be added in beta 5. its code file got mixed up with the rest in the patch, though it won't work without the sprite file. lol

i'll remove it for now in the patch file, beta 5'll be out in a month or so.

By the way
were the boss order changes intentional? Seems like Abaddon appears either in the first or second stage, Dullahan also comes early with Balore and Flying Armor. Astarte is moved to the Big Boss group (alongside Olrox, Brauner, Medusa, etc...)

I guess this is for storyline purposes when the dialogues will make their appearance in the game.

Anyway when I was fighting Dracula's third form (Arcade, last stage), I could see white/flashing bats alongside all of the other ones that Dracula throw ("BATS!" attack)
Boss Albus in Arcade mode doesn't always begin the battle with a laugh, he creeply stares at you you for a while and after he does some moves he laughs. Nothing too important, but it makes his intro a bit lifeless

yeah, i changed the ordering for storyline purposes. the bosses can be still shuffled around though, i only reordered them to put all story ones into their own brackets, so that they can't be skipped because of the random generator.

i didn't change anything in dracula in a while, so i dunno what could do that. which exe?

boss albus fixed, he'll always begin the battle with laugh now.

Regular Exe (not the old one, I never use it)

Apparently the Dracula BATS bug happened only in his stage (DracBG), when facing the red moon. Difficulty was Medium.
Opened a Dracula battle in his stage throughout the console but I couldn't get that bug to happen again - so it may be something random. Either way the bug is not noticeable that much, so I'd rather wait until other people manage to notice it too before checking anything.

Where do I change the controls for the old_exe?

EDIT: Is it just me or Persephone can't get any orbs stats? The Kenshiro kick won't give "Cool", neither will the normal attacks give any "Excellents"

Boss Richter (Arcade) is extremely balanced now!

Reimu's Master Spark seems to be too much over the top now. Speed is fine (which gives you a reason to use that skill) but the damage is holy shit too big even without charging the beam too much. 10%-20% damage decrease? Up to you I guess. Currently it destroys the likes of Rusalka and Abaddon.
On the other hand player Richter's Holy Bible item crash seems very weak (I only tried it against Olrox) for its high MP cost.

Also is it intended that you can't slide into non-boss characters in Survival (Hard/Nightmare only?). I guess this is due to their contact damage being activated when hit by anything (I still wish they would have standard contact damage instead).
And it is possible fighting the non-boss player characters with their Survival AI/properties throughout the console? Need to train against Player Death rofl
